What is serenity? For some, it's the rush of the ocean on an endless afternoon, or the howl of a coyote echoing over a moonlit prairie. And those are good ones, for sure. But I'll add one more to the list: a small town as midnight approaches, where windows are black save the glow of the occasional late-night movie, where the soundtrack of buzzing street lamps is interrupted only by the whisper of a distant car.
