Nightscape 16 July 2005

Moving south from Cape Vincent, through the rolling hills of New York, a bit of botched navigation landed me smack in the gritty middle of Binghamton. Perhaps in the light of day this place is charming, but on a moonless night it just looks ... motley.

But even motley has its upsides. Cruising down an urban drag lined by fast food joints and all-night laundromats, I spotted some mystery in the margins. And I started to like the place a bit.
