Deliverance 27 March 2005

I spent most of today in Fort Pierce. It is an odd little town, economically depressed, unkempt, eclectic. There were missing roofs all over town, evidence that a hurricane made its way through town just six months ago. Indeed, the sign of this drive-up church appears to have been tacked up as a desperate measure, though one can never be sure. The plywood aesthetic somehow fits into the overall informal facade, so it's possible that this sign is exactly as the church elders intended it.

[Note: Yes, that's my car you see reflected in the church windows. I stupidly left it there while shooting and didn't notice the reflection until later, thereby ruining an otherwise mediocre shot. No lesson like a painful one.]
