As I thumb through the hundreds of pictures I took on my recent trip to Florida, I've discovered a few that escaped my notice. This one, of the setting sun in the backwoods of the deep south, doesn't fit the typical standard for sunset photography. But for reasons I don't fully understand, I'll always be drawn to shoot sunsets like this one as opposed to the postcard kind. This scene occurred on a back road so random and obscure I no longer remember if it was in southern Georgia or northern Florida. No matter. It is the sunset of hidden America, a place few people get to see.
